I took my 4th grade students on a field trip to visit a local artist's studio. The artist's work, hanging all around the room, provided inspiration for a figure drawing activity. I believe my students thoroughly enjoyed the experience of visiting with a professional artist, viewing and talking about her work, and making work in this beautiful space. Thank you to the artist,Dorothy Arnold.
A few weeks later I returned to pick up the student's paintings. They had the student's work hanging directly below the artists work and it just looked so lovely that we decided to keep it up a bit longer. Here are a few pictures of their work on display...
